About me:
I am not your typical Wedding DJ. I help you plan and MC your event while helping keep your guests entertained throughout the evening.
I also work with your vendors, such as your photographer and/or videographer to make sure your memories are captured. I work with your caterer to make sure the timing is in place for the blessing and dinner to be served. And all those other factors to ensure everything operates smoothly.
I have 15+ years as a DJ who is radio experienced and currently working as a radio morning show host and radio station manager.
Shop Around:
I imagine you are in the pricing and research stage for a DJ/MC which is good!
Please do be careful. Especially when shopping for lower prices. I try to price myself within the same range of other DJs in the area with similar experience.
Some DJs are cheap for a reason. They either do not care, or to them it’s just a hobby. Anyone can play music, but there is so much more to being a DJ/MC and running a successful business.
So what should you ask when talking with other DJs?
“Are you comfortable making announcements/being a MC?” – I am, I will, and I can. You would be surprised at how many other DJs want the gig but are not upfront about this and then you ended up needing to ask a friend or family member to make announcements.
“Are you insured?” – I carry insurance to not only protect my assets, but protect those around me. Accidents happen, but some things should not be cut to save money.
“What is your backup plan if you can’t make it?” – I have multiple acquaintances in the business with experience that can help. But, unless something tragic has happened I have no intentions of missing your day!
“Do you have quality equipment and a backup plan?” – I use professional grade equipment. I can provide further details if requested. As far as a backup plan, while it is almost impossible to control power outages, equipment failure, or tech issues, we can plan for them. I bring an extra laptop and a backup hard drive, and I have extra speakers and lights if needed. Power outages on the other hand is limited on the venue restrictions.
“Are you willing to follow our wishes and help us through the day?” – You betcha I do! It’s your day and about you! I hear of so many DJs who are afraid to step out of their comfort zone. I’ve seen a lot and can recommend a lot of ideas. But, ultimately you get to make the decisions.
“Do you offer a contract?” – YES! A contract is required with me. I want you to able to hold me accountable for your big big day. A contract is a binding agreement. Any reputable vendor in this business should want to hold themselves accountable too!
I also encourage looking at reviews and setting up a meeting with your top few choices to see how things mesh between you. Finding a professional DJ is also not a one size fits all as each DJ may offer something unique or different.
So what’s next?
I offer no charge and no pressure meetings in person or online. Meaning, I won’t even ask you to sign a contract up front. You have an important decision to make that should no be taken lightly.
I want your day to go great! And because of that I offer free advice regardless if you book with me or not.
Now, if you have already decided to move forward with booking me that is great to hear! I do require a $500 non-refundable retainer fee, which is applied to your balance, along with a signed contract. Once that is in place you will have access to the online planner.
Other than that I hope I answered any and all questions or concerns. If not, let me know how I can help make your day memorable, answer any other questions you may have, or setup a meeting.
Thanks for contacting me, and regardless of your decision,
Best Wishes!
